Ralph Carter is an accomplished musician and composer. His most recent projects include music composition and production for the best-selling dance/fitness videos, “Dancing With the Stars,” “Denise Austin’s Quick Burn Cardio” as well as Jane Fonda’s upcoming two DVD release. Over the last four years he has composed and produced music for over a dozen releases from Cal Pozo’s Fitvid productions. He was a composer for NBC’s hit series “Starting Over.” He was house composer for Kidthing Inc. from 2007 through 2009, composing scores for popular Dr. Seuss renditions of “The Cat in the Hat,” “Green Eggs and Ham” and others. His music is included in Showtime’s docu-drama “Trantasia.” He has done independent artist productions and arrangements for Dick Van Dyke, Leslie Bixler, and Red hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith’s children’s CD’s “Moonfood” and “Rhythm Train,” as well as Jon Gindick’s award winning CD "We all come back as music.”

Educated at UCLA, Boston University and Santa Monica College, Carter began his career in the Pop/ Rock & Roll business. He penned “Shakin’” and other hits with Eddie Money who he also toured and recorded with in his early career. As a songwriter, he’s had covers by Vixen, Steve Stone, The Regulators, The Swing Kings, Nitro and others.

During his
early career, Ralph had the benefit of working with many legendary music producers, Tom Dowd (Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart), Andy Johns (Rolling Stones, Van Halen), Danny Kortchmar (Don Henley), David Briggs (Neil Young), Chuck Plotkin (Bruce Springsteen), E.T. Thorngren (Robert Palmer), Mitchell Froom (Crowded House), Ross Vannelli, and recently Richard Perry on Jane Fonda’s upcoming release. He’s also worked with many of the best musicians in the business and established a wide network of talent to call upon in his current work, (Alex Ligertwood of Santana recently performed on Jane Fonda’s production).

Carter was hired for a period by Almo/Irving music to reproduce and ‘modernize’ portions of their East Memphis catalogue. He has composed and produced numerous commercials infomercials, station ID’s and the like along the way. His early film work includes music short works by David Davidson, owner of Solvent Dreams post in Los Angeles, music for “Passage of the Four” for Solvent Dreams, music for Dave West’s and Chris Marsal’s short films “Puddle Jumper” and “Do Over,” Sky Rocket productions pilot with Mario Addretti VF1.

Carter is a
mullti instrumentalist and performs regularly in his own scores and productions. This allows him great flexibility in accommodating a range of budgets.
